Terek Terek My dear Turner, I write to wish you goodbye. I was in hopes that I should have seen you. Give my best regards to Mrs Turner. Things are going on very fairly, but I shall have to make many changes in the organisation of the party which will involve getting rid of a few of the men. In wishing you goodbye now, I feel as men can only feel when saying so to a dear and sincere friend. There are few if any people in the world who I feel such friendship as yourself and Mrs Turner, Excuse this bit of sentimentalism but the remebrance of the old Ovens times comes over me and gets the better of me at times - I trust in God that I shall meet you again. We travel having forfeited your good opinion to which I attach great weight. Ever your sincere friend, Write me a line to Swan Hill PS. Please excuse my scrawl. I have written to request that letters with my signature as leader of the expedition should be sent through the Post Office even if not stamped - I feel the difficulty now as I have no stamps - pray do what you can for me in this matter. | ||
